When people stand before God as male and female in a marriage ceremony, they take part in an oath. They then become one flesh and are no longer two but one flesh. The moment you stood before God and took the oath....in the becoming one flesh, it was sealed.
When God sanctions a marriage, that means we are abiding by the guide lines we find in the bible. That is what God sanctioned. So if you've followed the guide lines that God has ordained.....male and female, not marring a pagan and whatever else the bible says about marriage, then no..we just can't divorce when we just feel like it. We may separate but marriage is unto death and then one is free. But until then the 2 have become one.
If one has married outside of what God sanctioned in the bible, then God has not sanctioned it and in His eyes, its not a marriage at all.
Well it's like changing a story.. We stood at the altar and lie then. Now we want to tell the truth?
It's like this, most people know before they get into marriage if its God designed or not. There is always that little thing that is ignored in courtship and dealt with until we say "I do." We settle, put up with, and deal with and then in marriage makes it a problem. Marriage is a commitment and so is love. We must be committed to having the conversation before marriage or leave it alone in marriage.
Who. It's a commitment. determines if a marriage is ordained by God or not? Shouldn't our marriage counsellors have some say or do we lie to them too? Or we just don't follow their counsel.
The best marriages come up on speed bumps but they have decided to slow down, sometimes stop, but decide to keep going together. It's a commitment.

Wish I knew all of this a while back.
